EDITS+ Workflow Management
EDITS+ utilizes queue processing to facilitate workflow management. The administrator defines queues to route visits to specialized workgroups.
- Use queue management to create a coding workflow tailored to your environment.
- Maintenance for queue management is performed in the EDITS+ System Administration application. Queues can be defined using user-supplied names. Each queue can have different windows associated with it, different users authorized, and different levels of access to the queue (read-only vs. update). Queues are processed sequentially.
Example of Queue Processing
- An example of queue processing would be the establishment of an insurance queue. For this example, the insurance queue will be the first processing queue. This queue would have the visit log (LogView) window, Demographic window, Insurance window, and Complete window associated with it. Insurance specialists would be assigned to work the insurance queue.
Once a day, all insurance queue visits set to Complete status would be promoted to the next queue. As queue establishment continued, the next queue could be professional coding, followed by professional billing, and so on. Queue order and contents are customizable to meet client needs.
